The Rhythm of Secrets by Patti Lacy - CFBA Book Tour is On!!!

What would happen if you thought your deepest, darkest secret that you have kept from your husband and the rest of your church family and the world was suddenly yanked into the light by a single phone call? Without warning, you are forced to remove the mask you've worn for years. Do you embrace the freedom of truth finally being exposed or do you cower and shrink into a corner?

This is what happens to Sheila Franklin in Patti Lacy's latest offering from Kregal.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Sheila Franklin has masqueraded as the precocious daughter of avant-garde parents in colorful 1940s New Orleans, a teen desperate for love and acceptance, and an unwed mother sent North with her shame.

After marrying Edward, Sheila artfully masks her secrets, allowing Edward to gain prominence as a conservative pastor. When one phone call from a disillusioned Vietnam veteran destroys her cover, Sheila faces an impossible choice: save her son and his beloved…or imperil Edward’s ambitions.

Inspired by a true story, The Rhythm of Secrets intermingles jazz, classical, and sacred music in a symphony trumpeting God’s grace.

Fatal Judgment - A Page Turner Extraordinaire

If you want a gripping romantic suspense to read by the fire on these chilly winter evenings, look no further than Irene Hannon's latest novel, Fatal Judgment, which is the first in a new series called Guardians of Justice.

I had not read any  of Hannon's books until now, but I look forward to catching up on her backlist. The story is that good!

U.S. Marshal Jake Taylor has seen plenty of action during his years in law enforcement. But he'd rather go back to Iraq than face his next assignment: protection detail for federal judge Liz Michaels, his best friend's widow. Although his job had kept him from personally socializing with the couple before his friend died, he'd heard plenty about the cold-hearted workaholic who drove her husband to possible suicide. As danger mounts and he observes Liz as she truly is, he's forced to revise his opinion of her. When it becomes clear someone wants her dead,  her life and his heart are in peril.

I don't want to give anymore away because you will want to read this for yourself.

One note of caution. Like me, you may find the first quarter or so of the book to be slower paced than a lot of suspense books as the foundation for the storyline is established. Hang in there, because all at once the tension pushes into overdrive and you will not want to put this book down until you read the last page and enjoy the satisfying ending.

I look forward to reading the books to come in this new series.

Irene Hannon has written more than 35 romance and romantic suspense novels. Her books have been honored with a RITA award—the “Oscar” of romantic fiction—and she is a four-time finalist for that prestigious honor. Her books have also won a Daphne du Maurier award, a HOLT Medallion and two Reviewers’ Choice awards from RT BOOKreviews magazine.
Irene, who holds a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in journalism, juggled two careers for many years until she gave up her executive corporate communications position with a Fortune 500 company to write full-time. She is happy to say she has no regrets!
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening and singing.  A trained vocalist, she has sung the leading role in numerous musicals, including “South Pacific,” “Brigadoon,” “Oklahoma” “The King and I” and “Anything Goes.” She is also a soloist at her church.
